Affirmative Therapy Training for Transgender Communities

Many struggle with finding competent therapists, counselors, psychologists and/or psychiatrists for transgender and gender expansive community members – especially supportive professionals close to their homes and within their insurance coverage.

To try and build/expand the skills and services available, a year-long training program was developed that includes two in-person weekends and web-based weekly supervision. The program is wrapping up their second year and have been very purposeful in building content that centers around transgender therapists, people of color, and intersectionality of faith, trauma, stigma, and individual wellness.

In 2020, the in-person weekends will be offered in Seattle (Capitol Hill area) in January and August and offered in Philadelphia (at Widener University, 20 minutes south of the city) in February and September. Participants can select their weekly web-based supervision from the group of trainers to best meet their growth needs.

Scholarships are available for transgender and gender non-binary therapists and POC.

Spots are still open in both the Seattle and Philadelphia groups for 2020!
